Merry Christmas to everyone from here in Vermont! As I write this post it is 53 degrees outside up here on the hill at my parent’s house and it is still the morning here. I don’t remember a Christmas this warm or with no snow on the ground at all. Everything around here is struggling with Okemo having less than 20 trails open on the mountain and no ice on the lakes. The economy here in my home state will struggle this winter and it is not going to be good at all.
From a personally point of view, I won’t be able to do any winter activities while visiting. Once I head back to New York I don’t even know the next time I will be coming back to Vermont and may miss out on winter. That means for me no snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling, nothing! Really was hoping to test some of my new winter gear including a new tent for the winter. If I don’t get a chance this season there is always next year and many more to come.
Thankfully I have all of next week off from work. This may mean some day trips around the NYC area. They might have to be solo as Queen Bee is working, but if I can get her to go with me New Year’s Day/weekend then there could be an overnight adventure if the weather continues to be favorable.
Until then, there is not much to share and wish everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
